Attention:

Please note that the Ferrybox can only be operated upon request. Request operations with the Ferrybox to AWI-Logistics in sufficient time prior to the cruise.

Ferrybox data stored in data acquisition system DShip are uncorrected measurement data.

Summary

The FerryBox is an automatic, flow-through system to measure water parameters (e.g. temperature, conductivity, sound velocity, pH, fluorescence) continously and unattended.

Components

The ferrybox system consits of different installed sensors, a pump control system and data aquisition and storage unit.
Installed sensors: pH (Glas Elektrode EGA 140-X-E, Meinsberger MV3010pH Messverstärker), O2 (Oxygen Optode 3835, Aanderaa), Phycocyanin (Cyclops (1) P, Turner), CDOM (CDOM Cyclops (2) U , Turner), salinometer (FSI), chlorophyll a and turbidity (Scufa, Turner)
Control system: flow-through sensor (Flow Main, Flow Out), pressure sensor, motor ball valves intake and outlet (Coster), magnet valve fresh water normal and fresh water pressure flushing, acid pumps (ProMinent) for 1. H2SO4 and 2.oxalic acid, centrifugal pump (main pump)
