  • In order to get a permission to tour the ship as a visitor the tour has to be in the interest of AWI. The decision is made ba AWI ship coordination or the AWI directory.
  • The ship is open to the general public on open ship days.
  • Infants and persons with limited mobility cannot visit the ship because of risk of accident e.g. cause by steep stairways or lose cables and hoses. Animals are not allowed onboard. We appreciate your understanding.

  • Procedure:
    • Maximum number of visitors is 15.
    • Registration at least 2 weeks before the ship reaches port.
    • Max. 2 groups of visitors per weekday.
    • No visitors during the first and last 4 days of the time in the shipyard.
    • Formless registration via Email to AWI ship coordination.
    • Same rules apply for visitors in harbours abroad.

  • Helmholtz community
  • Cooperation partners of AWI
  • Media representatives
  • ...


Family members, friends, colleagues etc. belong to the interested public. Because of the large number of inquiries touring the ship is only possible for them on open ship days. We appreciate your understanding.
