Experimental (implemented): New project directory for S3

There is an experimental user interface for eResources projects available on our S3 system. If you are interested to use it please not the following: 

  • You need a project: https://cloud.awi.de/#/projects (S3 resources/quota is not shown yet on this website) 
  • Open a helpdesk@awi.de ticket with the following information: 
    • project name
    • Needed quota (TB) 
  • You (project owner and admins) will get one access_key and secret_key for this project. 

Conceptual (for now): You get a new project directory (=bucket). Accessing existing files in /hs/projects/$PROJECT via S3 is not possible. However something like 

ssh hsm.dmawi.de ls /hs/D-P/s3projects/p01/$PROJECT/

should work. And so should rsync (wink) .

Experimental (might be implemented on request): S3 access to an existing project directory

These features are not implemented yet. However if you should need them you may ask and we might be able to provide this features soon afterwards. (We would have to throw some resources on this (wink).) If you need this please open a helpdesk@awi.de ticket with more specific information. This should be possible (but we can not guarantee it before trying):

  • S3 access to an existing HSM project /hs/projects/$PROJECT
  • S3 access to an existing Isilon project /isibhv/projects/$PROJECT
  • Exclusive S3 access to an new project directory on the Isilon (without any ssh-backdoor like above for HSM)
