Da, im Gegensatz zu den großen Forschungsschiffen wie SONNE und POLARSTERN, auf den mittleren Forschungsschiffen kein technisches Personal vorhanden ist, das die Handhabung und den Betrieb der wissenschaftlichen Geräte (hydroakustische Geräte, CTD-Rosetten-System etc.) gewährleisten kann, müssen Sie als Nutzende selbst dafür Sorge tragen.
Falls Sie die hydroakustischen Geräte, wie z.B. Fächerlot wissenschaftlich nutzen wollen, gehen wir davon aus, dass Sie entsprechendes Personal mitbringen, das mit der Bedienung der Geräte vertraut ist und entsprechend valide Daten erzeugt werden können.
Sollten Sie das eine oder andere Gerät nur als Unterstützung für Ihre Arbeiten gebrauchen wollen (z.B. Fächerlot zur Erkundung von befischbaren Arealen), dann haben sich Kollegen aus dem AWI bereit erklärt, Ihnen eine Einweisung in die Handhabung zu geben. Dies muss aber sehr frühzeitig organisiert werden (3 Monate vor Fahrtbeginn), da das Schiff sehr ausgelastet ist und die Rüstzeit entsprechend kurz ist.

Für den Fall, dass die Daten der oben genannten Geräte nach der Reise zum AWI transferiert werden sollten, ist ein vereinheitlichtes Verfahren definiert worden. Informationen erhalten Sie von der Schiffskoordination.

However, this has to be organized very early (3 months before the start of the cruise), since the ship is very busy and the setup time is correspondingly short.
