  1. Click on "My Freight" on the left of your EIS screen and press the button "+Create new freight"

  2. Enter the "Freight requisitioner" and the "Freight information" as the first steps of this module.

  3. Go "to collect freight" and follow the sections:

add your articles in section "Create item" (1)

and put these directly into "Move here" section (3) if your articles do not need to be packed

or use "Put article in box" section (2) and then put the created and filled packings down to the "Move here" section (3).

  4. Click "Submit freight"

    Additional information
  5. Sometimes it might be helpful to have someone available as your administrative substitute on a particular freight. You can add the email-address of this person in the "Freight requisitioner" area.

  6. You have taken part in a former expedition? All expeditions starting from PS121 onwards keep your submitted freight data!
Maybe you can re-use your freight information you submitted earlier - check this in "Collect freight"!

This should be all! For detailed information, take a look below into the detailed guide to My Freight in EIS. Here you will find the information in a more detailed way.

Detailed guide for My Freight

Basic information "My Freight"

As a registered participant of an expedtion in the Expedition Interface System (EIS) your access to the freight module of EIS is granted. To use it, please click on „My Freight“ on the menubar on the left.

If you have already created freight, these are displayed in the list below in "Freight". Here you also create new freight using the button "+Create new freight".

The search function at the top right allows you to search for freight items in freight lists that have already been submitted. Using the search function it is sufficient if you only know parts of your search term.

"New freight" area

The "New freight" area contains the basic data of a freight.
You begin entering information about the "Freight requisitioner", which can be yourself or - if an administrative substitute has been invited - a different person.

In a second step, you need to enter the "Freight information", for example platform, expedition number, if your freight contains special cargo or if you want to upload your own packing lists as you maybe work for a different institute than the AWI and therefore you use your own lists, etc. (Please keep in mind: we recommend to enter your freight information in EIS)

When all is done, you click on "To collect freight".

Additional information: "Administrative substitute"
As the menu title "My freight" described this as your personal freight area, you as the freight requisitioner can invite EIS user(s) as an "Administrative substitute" for the current freight you are working on. This can be helpful if you organise freight for a working group and you will let the team members take part in organising it.
