Mapping Infrastructure
As part of the SDI Standard Operating Procedures data gets harmonized for viewing and filtering purposes. The biggest aspect of this is using standard vocabulary (esp. NERC) and mapping existing metadata (like parameter names, method/device strings, unit strings) to it. This gets done inside the SDI but to work properly it depends on input from experts and scientists.
