What to do about technical problems with your instruments?

The electronics engineers onboard have strict fields of work where they care for instruments and devices belonging to the ship's equipment. They also help to connect new instruments brought onboard to the ship's infrastructure at the beginning of the expedition.

The respective scientist or technician himself etc. is responsible for operation and maintenance of scientific devices brought onboard. All relevant material, instructions and tools have to be brought along.

Safe and professional handling of the instruments is also the responsibility of the expedition member.

If you have problems with your instruments and require a second opinion you may always contact the electronics engineers. They will try to help you if time and their other duties allow it. But you must not assume that the engineers will carry out your work e.g. repair work!
