Attention

The GAU2000 Flight Recorder is only installed on Polar 6 research aircraft.

Summary

The GAU 2000 is a lightweight data recorder designed to be mounted in mobile equipment. It records motion data through the use of various sensors, including accelerometers, gyros, magnetic and pressure sensors and a 16 channel WAAS-enabled GPS module. The data produced by these sensors is recorded onto both a removable SD memory card and a crash-hardened internal memory module. The flight recorder is only installed on Polar 6 where it is also connected to the Pitot tubes.
