Find detailed sensor descriptions of nose boom sensors in chapter "Atmospheric measurements"! |
Summary
Two nosebooms nose booms exist for measurements of turbulence in the air column. The nosebooms nose booms are attached to the nose pylons of Polar 5 or Polar 6. They comprise a 5-hole probe at the tip of the noseboomnose boom. Three holes are connected to differential pressure sensors and 2 holes serve static pressure sensors. Furthermore the nosebooms nose booms comprise 2 temperature sensors with one de-iced housing and one not de-iced housing. Another air inlet is connected to a humidity sensor (see sensor specifications in chapter "Atmospheric measurements").

Data logging, storage and archiving
Data of all the noseboom nose boom sensors are stored within the aircraft onboard Data Management System (DMS) and are avaible after the flight from land instance of DMS.
